Origin Story
The Good Group started the way most real things do, not with a business plan, but with a handshake and a bet on ourselves. In 2019, we took that leap in a place we called home: San Marcos. No bank. No investors. No safety net. Just two operators who’d spent years learning the business from the inside out. Door work, bartending, promoting, earning every skill before we ever signed a lease.
That single venue became the foundation. Each acquisition after it, Good Bull Icehouse in College Station, Cricket’s in Lubbock, the Saké concept expanding into new markets, followed the same playbook: score the market, secure the dirt, build a concept the campus can call its own.
Today: five venue concepts, three college towns, $20M+ in total revenue since launch. Every acquisition self-funded. Every market profitable within year one. And the national expansion is just getting started.

Garth didn't buy his way into hospitality. He built a skill stack from scratch — event staffing, door work, bartending, promoting — and leveraged every step until he owned the bar he used to work security at. As CEO, he oversees operations across every GG venue, building the systems and staff culture that allow multi-state management to run without micromanagement.WE DIDN'T START WITH A PLAYBOOK. WE WROTE ONE. BUILT FROM THE BAR UP. EVERY REP, EVERY DOOR, EVERY NIGHT. UNTIL WE OWNED THE ROOM.
